Harvest Health & Recreation supports equality for all Arizonans

Becomes first large cannabis company to sign UNITY Pledge in support of equal treatment in employment, housing and public accommodations

(Phoenix, AZ) Harvest Health & Recreation, Inc. (CSE: HARVOTCQX: HRVSF) (“Harvest”), a vertically integrated cannabis company with one of the largest and deepest footprints in the U.S signed the UNITY Pledge in support of full inclusion and equality in employment, housing, and public accommodations for all Arizonans, including gay and transgender people. Harvest joins more than 20,000 individuals and over 3,200 businesses including PetSmart, AMR, Salt River Project, the Arizona Diamondbacks, Fry’s Food Stores, and GoDaddy in supporting a fully inclusive Arizona.

Currently, five Arizona cities have ordinances that ban discrimination; however, Arizona has no statewide laws that protect people from being fired based on their sexual orientation or gender identity or discriminated against in housing and public accommodationsHarvest

Taking the UNITY Pledge demonstrates Harvest’s continued commitment to be an active member of the ONE Community, as well as a positive partner for the residents, economies and organizations it serves.

“Our company has been and will always be a place where everyone is welcome – no matter your sexual orientation or gender identity. Taking the UNITY Pledge is an important step in ensuring everyone who walks through our doors feels safe and welcome,” said Harvest Chief Executive Officer Steve White. “We are proud to be a member of ONE Community along with the other Arizona businesses that like us see the irrefutable importance of inclusion.”

“Harvest understands that inclusion and equal treatment is a key component to success and sustainability,” said ONE Community and ONE Community Foundation President and Co-Founder, Angela Hughey. “We are grateful for their leaders and commitment to an Arizona that is open for business to everyone,” concluded Hughey.

Created by ONE Community, the member-based coalition of socially responsible businesses, organizations and individuals moving diversity, inclusion and equality for all Arizonans forward, the UNITY Pledge is a public declaration to support and advance workplace equality and non-discrimination policies in housing and public accommodations for all Arizonans, including gay and transgender Arizonans.
